TenureÔÇÉTrack Position in Genetics/Molecular Biology


The Department of Biology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment (at assistant/associate professor) with a specialization in Genetics/Molecular Biology commencing September 1, 2018.


Candidates should have an earned doctorate in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or a related field. Candidates should provide evidence of excellence in teaching and an active research agenda that will involve undergraduates. The successful applicant will be required to teach both basic and advanced courses at the undergraduate level, will be expected to develop new programs and course offerings for the Biology Department, and maintain active scholarly engagement in their respective field.


Candidates with records of significant research accomplishment in Genetics, Molecular Biology, or Biotechnology and related work experience are preferred. Applicants with interest and expertise appropriate to explore fundamental questions at the genetic or molecular level in model organisms that can be investigated at an undergraduate institution are encouraged to apply. In extraordinary cases, as determined by the University, a doctorate degree will not be required.
