THUNDER BAY

Architecture49 is a growing firm with promising career opportunities for talented people. Our offices, situated from coast to coast across Canada, house a diverse and accomplished group of architects, interior designers, technologists, landscape architects, and support staff, and we are always looking for new people to enrich our team.

At A49, we foster friendly, open working environments where employees can thrive on congenial collaboration. We seek meaningful projects where we can build on our focused expertise and impact the communities in which we work. We strive to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues. We recognize the quality, motivation and commitment of our employees and celebrate their achievements.

The Thunder Bay office is a leader in the design of Aboriginal Buildings in the Remote North and facilities throughout Northern Ontario, and Industrial facilities. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, as well as a share purchase program and RRSP matching program. We value work-life balance and support various fitness and social initiatives.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

  • Do you spend more time commuting to work than you do at work?
  • Are you sacrificing time you can spend with your family, because of lengthy commutes?
  • Are you putting off having a family because of your hectic lifestyle?
  • Are you struggling to afford to get on or stay on the ‘property ladder’?
  • Are you tired of a creeping ‘concrete jungle’ with no easy escape to the relaxation and respite of the cottage?
  • How would you like to own a detached, single family property for under $250k?*
  • Enjoy fishing or hunting? How about lakefront living at an affordable cost, without the need for a 2 hour+ Friday evening commute?
  • If you have a growing family, would it be reassuring to have an internationally recognized University, specializing in Engineering and Healthcare, right on your doorstep?
  • How about the simple pleasure of breathing the highest quality air in Ontario?

Lifestyle trends in Ontario are changing. While populations in urban areas like Toronto increase, more and more professionals are struggling to realize the goal of defined work/life balance. Moreover, with the cost of establishing a family with house prices, mortgage rates, childcare, transit and insurance costs on the increase in our major cities, the balance of having ‘urban’ amenities, while maintaining a more economically viable lifestyle, is more attractive for Professionals in the 30-50 age demographic.

If you have considered the questions posed here and feel that a change will be good for your future, then consider a career with Architecture49 in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

With expanding infrastructure, more affordable property market with the highest home value appreciation in Canada*, access to top-class Healthcare facilities, Universities and one of Ontario’s most stunning Provincial Parks (Sleeping Giant PP) on your doorstep, Thunder Bay is on the move!

Architecture49 is looking for dedicated Architects to join the team. As we plan for future growth, we recognize the need for Senior Architects to join the group, who will have the drive, ambition and dedication to become leaders in the organization.
