WSP is currently seeking CAD Operator/Field Inspector – Structures and Bridges to join our Transportation group, located at our Kingston office reporting to the Manager.  The Field Inspector will be involved in projects providing expertise on preliminary engineering, masonry, site servicing, field inspections, proposal development, project management, and other related activities.


  • Assist Project Engineers/Technologists with design/drafting utilizing AutoCAD, AutoCAD LDD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, also Revit and BIM an asset;
  • Ensure compliance with contract standards and specifications;
  • Perform inspections and surveys on projects at various locations;
  • Resolve construction issues with the assistance of the site project manager and field supervisors;
  • Complete preliminary topographic surveys;
  • Interpret acquired data;
  • Quantity measurements and daily reporting;
  • Complete construction as-building for record keeping/approval purposes;
  • Assist the Project Manager with day to day project operations.



  • Post-secondary diploma in Engineering Technology from a recognized institution or an equivalent combination of training and experience 1-2 years of experience in a similar field;
  • 1 - 5 years of relevant experience;
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a CET;
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with AutoCAD, AutoCAD LDD, and Civil 3D and experience with Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Strong team orientation;
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills;
  • Ability to manage competing priorities within tight timelines;
  • Excellent technical, interpersonal and teamwork skills;
  • Class G Driver’s License and access to a vehicle;
  • Excellent technical writing skills and verbal communication skills.
