WSP  is currently seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our Human Resources department, located at our Montréal office.  Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, this position will be responsible for delivering the activities of the Human Resources function which supports multiple business lines in the Quebec region comprising of approximately 500 people. The role works closely with business line managers and the market sector leaders to ensure HR programs and services are in place to support and drive the business objectives. In this role the HRBP, leverages services from the Centers of Excellence in areas such as Talent Attraction, Global Mobility, Compensation and Benefits. We are seeking an individual with an HR business partner background with demonstrated experience managing a broad range of human resources initiatives. The selected individual will enable cultural change, build internal business partnerships, and provide coaching to develop others, challenge the status quo and offer creative solutions to business issues. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills, be able to manage multiple priorities and have the ability to develop strong business knowledge.   • Through the understanding of business unit strategy and organizational plans, the incumbent will leverage appropriate HR programs to deliver effective solutions to help the business achieve their objectives;
  • Participate in the ongoing development of the business unit’s talent and culture;
  • Engage the business units in delivering on employee engagement initiatives and enable and support leaders in creating an engaged high performing culture; 
  • Foster a high performance culture through partnership with the business units and the HR Centers of Excellence   to ensure all HR practices and programs are in place and well understood;
  • Proactively identify HR trends and issues with a focus on solution based strategies;
  • Coach business leaders on issues of effective team building and organizational effectiveness;
  • Effectively partner with the business to develop both long term and near term project resource plans;
  • Manage employee relations issues with an eye towards ensuring WSP remains an employer of choice;
  • Advise and facilitate people management, career development and training;
  • Develop and implement approaches and solutions which foster sound employee relations;
  • Measure and monitor key HR performance indicators;
  • Other duties as assigned/required.



  • University degree or equivalent in a related field;
  • Fully Bilingual both written and oral.
  • CRHA certification is an asset;
  • 3+ years of HR business partner experience, preferably in a large organization;
  • Knowledge of fundamental HR regulations and applications;
  • Able to demonstrate and role model WSP’s guiding principles;
  • Must be effective at influencing management and conflict resolution;
  • Well-developed teambuilding and influencing skills, effectively address sensitive HR issues, unquestioned integrity, confidence, energy, and ability to establish HR’s credibility at all levels of the organization;
  • Experience with facilitating HR training sessions;
  • Effectively performs in a fast pasted environment with minimal supervision;
  • Experience in navigating efficiently through a matrix organization;
