WSP is currently seeking a Field Inspector for various Land Development and Municipal projects based out of our Edmonton office.


  • Construction coordination, inspection and survey on projects in Edmonton and Northern Alberta;
  • Resolving construction issues with the assistance of the site project manager and field supervisors;
  • Completion of preliminary topographic surveys including interpretation of acquired data;
  • Daily progress and HSE reporting, and participation in construction meetings;
  • Completion of construction as-builting for record keeping/approval purposes;
  • Miscellaneous assistance to project manager with day to day project operations; and
  • Communications/scheduling with city/county/municipal inspectors on assigned projects to ensure compliance with contract standards/specifications.


  • Civil or Construction Engineering Technology graduate;
  • 2+ years related experience in Civil Engineering;
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specs;
  • Ability to survey using GPS
  • A Working knowledge and familiarity with Civil 3D is an asset.  Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook also valuable;
  • Registered or eligible for registration with ASET as a TT, CET or P TECH;
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal, including teamwork and interpersonal abilities;
  • Comfortable in working independently in both an office and field environment;
  • Able to work outside up to 12 hours per day when required and on Saturdays and
  • A suitable working vehicle and valid driver’s license are required for this position.
