POSITION DESCRIPTION

Are you looking for an opportunity for a variable work week (depend on seasonal project demands) that can provide you more time for skiing in the winter? WSP has an excellent opportunity!!!

WSP is currently seeking a Field Services Inspector to join our Infrastructure group, located at our Rossland office. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, this position will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of land development, water resource, and municipal projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the proper field construction of WSP projects;
  • Maintain communication with contractors, stakeholders, and project manager regarding status of project ;
  • Gather field information / data / measurements during the construction process for translation into revised drawings, record drawings and completion documentation;
  • Manage field data records, safety records, drawing markups, and testing reports;
  • Maintain organized filing of construction projects using active filing and the main central system;
  • Ability to interpret construction documents, accurately perform mathematical computations, review and interpret engineering data, and make sound decisions;
  • Assist project managers with contract administration and budget tracking;
  • Provide assistance in the preparation of conceptual, through to final engineering documents, including grading plans, servicing plans, municipal infrastructure plans, and road design ; and
  • Other duties as assigned .

QUALIFICATIONS

  • An undergraduate degree or diploma in civil engineering from an accredited university or college ;
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in the municipal infrastructure and transportation projects ;
  • Good initiative, attention to detail, and excellent time management ;
  • Ability to work in a team environment;
  • Ability to work independently and have a self-starter attitude;
  • Willingness to travel to the various project locations if required;
  • Knowledge of MMCD contracts and specifications is an asset;
  • Experience in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is an asset; and ;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills .
