The Senior Electrical Engineer, Power Distribution Systems position will provide project coordination and detailed design for various projects consisting of underground and overhead electrical distribution systems. This role requires the ability to lead multiple, concurrent electrical distribution projects. Additionally, this role requires excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.


  • Detailed design of electrical distribution service relocation and replacements.
  • Detailed design of new distribution services and substations.
  • Lead Coordination with other utilities and stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and quality control to Jr. Engineers and Drafting staff.
  • Follow the LDC and the end users engineering standards.
  • Certify final designs and drawings for construction.


  • The minimum educational qualifications are a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering.
  • > 10 years’ experience in the field of Electrical Utilities.
  • Professional Engineer licensed in Ontario.
  • Experience with Toronto Hydro (THESL) distribution standards and procedures is required.
  • Distribution system experience with utilities in the GTA and neighboring regions is required.
  • Experience with PLSCAD is required.
  • Experience with Transmission Overhead Line design is considered an asset.
  • Experience with rail and transit projects is considered an asset.
