WSP is currently seeking an Environmental Planner to join our Environmental Planning group located at our Oakville office.  Reporting to the Senior Environmental Planner, or National Environmental Planning leader, this position will be responsible for participating in many multi-disciplinary large and small-scale projects that will impacts the local community and change the landscape. This position will primarily focus on projects related to infrastructure planning and development. This position will provide you with the opportunity to participate in multi-disciplinary projects, primarily related to infrastructure planning and development. We are looking for an individual with established public-sector client relationships in Environmental Planning to join our growing group. 


  • Managing the environmental component of Infrastructure Impact Assessment projects;
  • Proposal writing and coordination;
  • Compiling environmental information through internal and external contacts;
  • Developing and implementing consultation programs;
  • Responding to and resolving stakeholder concerns;
  • Liaising with staff at affiliate offices and with project sub-consultants;
  • Preparation of IA documentation;
  • Other duties as required.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies, Urban Planning, environmental Science or related field;
  • 5+ years of experience;
  • Previous experience in application of MTO and Municipal Class EA process an asset;
  • Previous experience in application of the TPAP process (Reg. 231/08) an asset;
  • Familiar with Canadian Environmental Assessment Act and the IEA process;
  • Effective written and oral communication skills;
  • Class G Ontario driver license and access to a vehicle;
  • Demonstrated ability to present information and issues in a clear and concise manner;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and Canadian Institute of Planners (RPP and MCIP);
  • Existing client relationships with MTO, Metrolinx and GTA municipalities would be an asset
  • Excellent organizational abilities
  • Previous experience in consulting would be an asset
