WSP is currently seeking a Proposal Lead, for the Geomatics business line to build a strong Proposal team.  This role will be based out of our Calgary location. The individual will play a vital role in developing processes and procedures to support our Geomatics proposal office along with coordinating and completing major proposals.


  • Be responsible for managing all aspects of proposal creation ensuring required timelines are met;

  • On all proposals, develop a proposal outline document, schedule/facilitate contributions of all parties, ensure RFP compliance, draft standard proposal sections, facilitate reviews, and perform quality control on final document Manage, monitor and maintain the proposal database, files, and systems through appropriate information management systems;

  • Create proposal development tools, evaluation criteria, standardized content and templates;

  • Develop and implement mechanisms for monitoring opportunities through bid sites and other potential avenues;

  • Maintain accurate records on proposals in progress, completed, wins, losses, etc.;

  • Lead and manage the Geomatics ECRM, including reporting of opportunity metrics and coordination of opportunity pipeline meetings;

  • Be the point of contact for the coordination of the Geomatics marketing and communications plan with the Marketing Department;

  • Work with the management and business development teams to coordinate and track the booking of client outreach events, conferences, industry trade shows, and speaking events.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline;

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in proposal development and ability to work with a variety of organizational stakeholders;

  • A self-motivated team member, who is flexible, demonstrates initiative to go above and beyond the task at hand, effectively multitask and who is capable of handling shifting priorities within a demanding deadline orientated environment;

  • Possess strong computer skills: Proficiency in MS Office including MS Visio and MS Project an asset;

  • Flexibility to work overtime to meet project deadlines as required;

  • Previous experience providing mentorship and guidance to more junior members within a proposal group.
