WSP is currently seeking a Summer Student to join our Geotechnical - Materials Team, located at our Kelowna, BC office. Reporting to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, this position will be eligible for a May through August term.


  • Supporting our Geotechnical Team, we are looking for a self-motivated team member to help assist with laboratory testing of soils and concrete (e.g. modified & standard proctors, grain size analysis, Atterberg Limits tests, insitu density testing, slump and air testing and casting concrete test cylinders)

  • Responsible for the preparation of completed testing reports and site reviews

  • Assist in the preparation of specifications and contract management related to concrete and construction technology

  • Assist in providing technical advice to clients and project teams (consultants and contractors)

  • Manage multiple priorities

  • Learn and excel through daily project work

  • Other duties as assigned


  • 3rd or 4th year student, or a recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, or a related discipline

  • Excellent academic record

  • Ability to quickly identify and understand project issues and opportunities

  • A team player who thrives on working with other successful, energetic people

  • Excellent communicator, with strong verbal, written, and presentation skills

  • Good initiative, attention to detail

  • Applicants should have reliable personal transportation as travel to and from project sites may be required.
