Senior Associate / Manager, Public Affairs and Crisis Practice
Burson-Marteller’s Public Affairs and Crisis practice is looking to hire a Senior Associate or Manager to be embedded with a Fortune 10 client to oversee day to day projects and events. Key deliverables for this account include the management of three high-profile annual events, managing media monitoring team and media response, leading research projects and managing government and association relations. The ideal candidate will have a background in public affairs with Hill experience.
Developing and cultivating relationships with clients and internal/external audiences.
Recommending and implementing initiatives that will improve the public’s perception of the client.
Partnering with client and potentially other communications firms to develop and complete communications plans.
Responding to media inquiries, helping to guide communications strategy and media outreach efforts.
Attending events, hearings, and speaking opportunities on Capitol Hill.
Preparing executives for media interviews.
Acting as client representative at association meetings and events.
Developing original research, surveys and market studies.
Managing account administration such as billing and financial reporting.
Minimum of 5 to 8 years of previous public affairs work experience.
Experience from the Hill is preferred demonstrating an understanding of both policy and press functions.
Seasoned writing skills; ability to write for senior level management and audiences.
Ability to supervise and motivate account staff, and creative problem-solving skills.
Ability to develop and deliver presentations and produce program outlines for creative brainstorms.
Strong strategic-thinking skills, and the ability to handle and manage stressful situations.
Strong project-management skills.
Proven relationships with the media and familiarity with the newest media outlets.
