The Annual Giving Specialist is responsible for the overall success of the annual giving programs.  These include, but are not limited to, monthly appeal letters, telephone campaigns, and ADRA Angels monthly giving program.  Staff lead for all special events. In collaboration with Development team, will provide organization, coordinate with production team and maintain annual giving initiative’s materials and data.  Consults with the Director of Development and Fundraising Strategy Committee to plan annual campaign fundraising efforts.


  • Work with Donor Care department to ensure all annual donor records are accurate
  • Oversees timely donor acknowledgements, including thank you letters.
  • Implement on-going personal/written/phone contact with potential donors.
  • Staff lead/Manager of all special events such as/but not limited to: Gift Catalog, phone-a-thons, and Bike-a-thons.
  • Develop/oversee monthly appeal and online solicitation campaigns.
  • Implement an annual recognition event for ADRA Angels and major/annual donors/volunteers, incorporating appropriate staff.
  • Produce monthly reports for the Director of Development.
  • In collaboration with the Fundraising Strategy Committee develop and execute five-year annual giving development plan.


  • Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience in nonprofit fundraising, marketing, business, or communications).
  • 1-3 years of nonprofit fundraising experience.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Demonstrated ability to persuade others.
  • Ability to manage high level confidential information with integrity and sensitivity
  • Proficient in multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, and working with minimal supervision.
  • Strong writing, oral and presentation communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
  • Experience with constituent relationship management system; Raiser’s Edge experience preferred.
  • Attention to detail and strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.


Domestic travel and limited international travel required up to 10%.

Person must be able to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation.  Incumbent should be in optimal health for difficult and temporary below-basic living conditions at overseas location and for field travel in general.
