Compliance Manager


Description

Provide leadership and strategic guidance for compliance with all ERO Reliability Standards impacting the Bulk Planning and System Protection Departments.  Responsible for the development, implementation, coordination and oversight of all compliance processes, policies and practices relating to the applicable Bulk ERO Reliability Standards.  Serve as or oversee the subject matter expert for the ERO Compliance Program in the areas of Protection and Control (PRC); Transmission Planning (TPL and FAC); Critical Infrastructure (CIP); Modeling, Data, and Analysis (MOD) Standards and other applicable ERO Standards as may be required.  Coordinate the completion and maintenance of adequate and auditable documentation to meet the requirements and measures of all applicable business unit ERO Standards.  Accountable for the technical content of self-certification, periodic submittals and filings, management updates, responses to regulatory advisories and inquiries, ballots, and comments to new and revised standards.  Assist with capital project initiatives to ensure the designs of electrical transmission facilities are consistent with requirements of applicable business unit ERO Standards.  Represent the Corporation on internal and external teams, committees and industry groups. Promote a culture of regulatory compliance and continuous improvement. Provide support, guidance and training within the Bulk Planning and System Protection Departments to enhance and maintain compliance efforts.

Education:  B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.  

Experience:  Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive engineering experience (8 with a PE license) in an electric power system environment with at least six years in system protection, relay and control design and/or substation testing at the bulk electric system level and/or Transmission Planning.  Working knowledge with mandatory ERO Reliability Standards and experience in a key leadership role are required.  Process design and procedure writing along with experience in the preparation for and coordination of compliance audits are desirable.    

Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations:  PE License preferred

Specialized Skills (e.g., typing, computers, tools and equipment uses, etc.):   Excellent computer skills, excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization, strong interpersonal and team dynamic skills, strong organizational and negotiation skills, self starter with solid integrity and the ability to provide directions and attention to detail.  Understanding of electric system technical system protection and operations issues as they relate to  FERC, ERO and Regional Entity compliance requirements.
